1 man dead in shooting at Mall at Tuttle Crossing

DUBLIN (AP) — A man charged with murder in a shooting death at the Mall at Tuttle Crossing Sunday told authorities that he fired after he was hit in the head with a purse.

Columbus police were called to the mall at about 2:30 p.m. and found 25-year-old Dontarious Sylvester shot inside a shoe store.

He was pronounced dead just after 3:00 p.m. Sunday.

Authorities said a man identifying himself as the shooter told emergency dispatchers that he fired after “a man assaulted me with his purse.”

Tyrone Gray Jr., 24, of Mansfield, was charged with murder and released Monday after posting 10 percent of his $50,000 bond Monday morning.
