COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Even without suspended defensive star Chase Young, surging Ohio State routed Maryland 73-14.
Young, the pass-rushing specialist, was held out while the university investigates whether a loan he received last year was proper.
It hardly mattered. The Buckeyes, No. 1 in the College Football Playoff rankings, ran out to a 42-0 halftime lead and cruised from there.
Quarterback Justin Fields threw three touchdown passes and ran for another score.
J.K. Dobbins rushed for 90 yards and two touchdowns as the 9-0 Buckeyes built a 42-0 halftime lead and held the Terrapins to 139 yards for the game, most of it coming in the fourth quarter.
