COLUMBUS – A familiar face to central Ohio television viewers for four decades, WBNS 10-TV anchor Jerry Revish announced his retirement from journalism.
Revish delivers the nightly news on the CBS affiliate at 5, 6 and 11 p.m.
His last day on-air will be November 27, 2019.
“I’ve had the blessing and pleasure of working for the best locally-owned television station in America,” he said in a release from the station Thursday. “The Wolfe family set a standard of excellence and integrity since WBNS-10TV went on the air in 1949. My career in journalism has afforded me the opportunity to help write the first drafts of history for 45 years.”
Revish noted as highlights of his 45-year career such local stories as the desegregation of Columbus City Schools, OSU bowl games and the Lucasville prison riot, and national stories like the Persian Gulf War, political conventions, the dedication of the Vietnam War Memorial Wall and the September 11th terrorist attacks.
Revish has reported from Haiti, Barbados, South Africa, Bosnia, Bahrain, Cuba and Japan.
