10,000+ receive OSU sheepskins

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State will hand out more than 10,000 diplomas to the Class or ‘14 Sunday, the second largest graduating class in university history.

Commencement begins at noon.
Ohio Stadium opens at 10:00 a.m. No tickets are required. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.

The commencement ceremony will be available via a live video stream beginning at noon.

Chris Matthews, host of ‘Hardball’ on MSNBC, will address 10,200 graduates and their friends and families. This class is second in size only to the one that graduated in June 2012, with 10,642 members.

Four individuals will be honored during ceremony. Honorary doctorates will be presented to Matthews and to Barry Bloom, the Joan L. and Julius H. Jacobson Professor of Public Health in the Harvard School of Public Health.

Distinguished Service Awards will be presented to Mac Stewart, former vice provost for Ohio State’s Office of Minority Affairs and John “Jay” Gerlach Jr., a 1976 graduate and chairman and CEO of Lancaster Colony Corporation.
