12-year-old missing in Linden area

COLUMBUS – Police are asking for help in locating a 12-year-old North Side girl who ran away from home during an argument with her legal guardian.

UPDATE: Charquita Cody was recovered by family and returned home.

Officers say Laquita Roberston, guardian of Charquita Cody, told them Charquita was not happy with discipline she received so she ran out of their house at 9:11 p.m. Sunday, ran eastbound across Cleveland Avenue, then northbound towards E. Hudson Street, according to investigators with the Missing Persons Unit.

Police say Roberston told them Charquita, who is also known as Q or Stinky, hangs out with a kid named Deshawn on E. Blake Street but she did not know his address.

Charquita is described as 5’4”/130-135 lbs. with black hair and purple extensions in braids. She was last seen wearing a teal headband, royal blue short-sleeve shirt, and maroon basketball shorts, with no shoes.
