COLUMBUS – Columbus police have arrested a 13-year-old boy on a murder charge for the shooting death of a 14-year-old during an argument outside an East Side school last week.
Juano Peyton was arrested outside his attorney’s office just before midnight Tuesday in connection with the double shooting that left Jaykwon Sharp dead and sent 14-year-old Miracle Carolina to the hospital with an injured leg, according to investigators with the Homicide Unit.
Sharp and Carolina were found outside Shady Lane Elementary School, 1444 Shady Lane Road, on May 22. Sharp died shortly afterwards at a hospital.
Police said it appears that Peyton and Sharp had been arguing prior to the shooting.
