COLUMBUS – Three people, including a 14-year-old boy, were killed and five others injured in separate shooting incidents in Columbus over the weekend.

Dayvion Jones was walking in 5300 block of Hazelwood Road at approximately 4:00 p.m. Sunday when he was shot by one of a group of males in a stolen SUV during a confrontation and died at Riverside Methodist Hospital, said Sgt. James Marable of the Homicide Unit.

This was the 18th homicide of 2021 in Columbus.

Investigators are looking for a woman they say shot two men, one of them fatally, on the Southeast Side Friday afternoon, Sgt. Eric Pilya said.

Officers responded to an address in the 4900 block of Bottlebrush Drive just after 12:20 p.m. found two men who were both taken to area hospitals with gunshot wounds.
Reginald Byrd, 39, was pronounced dead while James Mims, 22, was injured, Pilya said.

The investigation indicates that a woman known to both men shot them and then fled the scene, Pilya said.
