COLUMBUS – A 14-year-old will be charged with reckless assault after accidentally shooting himself and a friend at a Hilltop duplex Tuesday.
Investigators determined that Lesean Hall, 14, was at his the N. Wayne Avenue home of his 17-year-old friend Nicholas Watson at approximately 6:00 p.m. when the shooting happened, according to detectives with the Columbus police Assault Unit.
Hall told police that Watson had two handguns out and accidentally fired a shot from one of them, striking himself in the hand and Hall in the left side of his abdomen.
Both were taken to local hospitals in stable condition.
Police say Watson will be issued a summons for reckless assault.
