COLUMBUS, Ohio – Columbus SWAT officers arrested a 15-year-old boy Tuesday in connection with the fatal shooting of a teenage girl on the Southeast Side Monday night.
A juvenile arrest warrant for murder was issued for Tayon Dunson (above right) in the death of Shevona Whitehead (left), killed inside a home on S. Champion Avenue, according to homicide detectives. They say he admitted his involvement in the shooting.
Police said witnesses told them two males fled on foot after the shooting.
Police haven’t publicly discussed a motive.
It was the city’s 56th homicide of 2014.
