NEWARK – Newark police detectives have arrested a 16-year-old boy and charged him with two counts of attempted murder in the shooting of another teenager early Wednesday morning.
Officers called to the area of 400 Washington Street at 4:00 a.ml. found the 15-year-old boy suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his lower extremities, Division of Police spokesman Sgt. Clint Eskins said.
The teen was transported by medical helicopter to Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Police did not release any further information about his condition.
Detectives spoke with several witnesses and identified the second teen as a person of interest, Eskins said.
