COLUMBUS – Police say an 18-year-old man was gunned down on the Hilltop late Sunday night.
Officers called to the area of W. Broad Street and N. Wheatland Avenue on the report of a shooting found Benjamin Isaac Blackwell Jr., in front of a business at 2329 W. Broad Street suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, says Sgt. Jeff Strayer of the Homicide Unit.
He was died Monday morning at Mt. Carmel West Hospital, Strayer said.
There are no known suspects or motives for the shooting at this time.
The investigation continues.
This was the 95th homicide in Columbus in 2017.
