COLUMBUS – Two men were killed and another injured in separate shooting incidents Tuesday afternoon.
UPDATE: This article has been edited to include the name of the victim in the second incident.
Officers responding to reports of shots fired in the 3600 block of Sullivant Avenue, on the West Side, just before 4:30 p.m. found Amir Abdul Hakim Mohamud and Abdul Wahab Hassan suffering from gunshot wounds, said Homicide Unit Sgt. Eric Pilya.
Mohamud, 24, was pronounced dead at Doctors Hospital and Pilya says Hassan, 28, was in stable condition at Grant Medical Center with gunshot wounds to his shoulder and backside.
Police said the suspect in the shooting was a black man described as having dreadlocks who drove away eastbound on Sullivant Avenue in a blue sedan, Pilya said.
Officers who went to a home in the 2300 block of Ontario Street, in South Linden, at 10:10 p.m., responding to a 911 call reporting an overdose found a man suffering from a gunshot wound instead, according to Sgt. Terry McConnell of the Homicide Unit.
Ira Jabrieal Crosby, 32, was pronounced dead at the scene. There was no information available on a suspect or motive in the slaying.
These were the ninth and 10th homicides of 2019 in Columbus.
