COLUMBUS, Ohio – A 37-year-old woman and an unidentified man were killed in separate traffic accidents in Columbus Sunday.
Police say a man whose name was not released was sitting in a 1999 Acura RDX that was stopped for unknown reasons in the northbound traffic lanes of Gender Road, north of Bennell Drive, just before 2:30 a.m., when the car was struck from behind by a Chrysler Conquest driven by Mohamed Kamara who left the scene.
The unidentified man was thrown from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. Kamara, 29, was later located by officers and identified by witnesses, investigators said.
Agustina Martinez was driving southbound on I-270 south of Roberts Road just before 6:00 a.m. when she struck a guardrail on the east side of the roadway with her Chevrolet Blazer, police said.
She was ejected from her vehicle and pronounced deceased at scene, police said.
