COLUMBUS, Ohio – A home improvement store robbery suspect was captured after crashing two different vehicles while trying to make his getaway.
The arrest ended an incident that began with the armed holdup at a Home Depot in Lewis Center, according to the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office.
After pulling a gun on a clerk as he made his way out of the store with some merchandise just before 5:00 p.m. Thursday, Justin Tucker drove south into Franklin County where he crashed his SUV on the eastbound ramp of I-270 to I-71, limped to the nearby Worthington Industries parking lot, stole a truck, and crashed a second time before being arrested by Columbus police officers, Delaware County sheriff’s deputies said.
Sheriff’s investigators credit “prompt, detailed, and accurate information” from the store employees with helping in the capture.
