2 hurt in wrong-way crash

COLUMBUS, Ohio – An 80-year-old Gahanna woman is in the hospital along with the driver of a car she struck head-on while driving the wrong way on a freeway near downtown Tuesday night, Columbus police said.

Accident investigators say Virginia White was driving her Buick Regal eastbound in the westbound lanes of I-670 near Leonard Avenue at approximately 8:24 p.m. when she hit Hanna Miller’s westbound Ford Taurus.

Miller car spun out of control and was struck by Christopher Harden’s westbound Kia Sedona.

White and Miller, 21, of Columbus, were transported to Grant Medical Center in critical condition, according to police.

Harden, 48, and the two girls riding in his car – ages 12 and 13 – were not injured, police said.

The accident is still under investigation.

The interstate was closed for several hours overnight during the cleanup and investigation of the accident.
