COLUMBUS – One suspect is under arrest but a second gunman remains at large following two weekend murders in Columbus.
Rondel Valentine, 22, was shot while inside a vehicle and was found by officers in front of 3038 Wadsworth Court just before 4:30 Sunday afternoon, Sgt Chris Holzhauser of the Homicide Unit said.
Valentine was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time late, the 58th homicide victim of the year in Columbus, Holzhauser said.
He says the motive behind the shooting remains unknown.

A 25-year-old man was arrested on the West Side early Saturday after a brief standoff with officers and charged with the shooting death of Maxx McDaniel,who had been gunned down a few hours earlier outside the Marathon Gas Station at 3464 Sullivant Avenue, said Homsiide Unit Sgt. Jeffrey Strayer.
McDaniel, 20, was shot in the head and pronounced dead at the scene shortly before 2:45 a.m., Strayer said.
Pierre Darty, 25, was identified as a suspect and arrested at 698 Wedgewood Drive on a murder charge.
