COLUMBUS – A 63-year-old man shot inside his home Monday night and a 26-year-old man are the latest homicide victims in Columbus, which has seen 48 murders so far in 2017.
At 8:15 p.m., Columbus police officers responded to a home in the 1000 block of Kelton Avenue to check out a report that two suspects wearing black hoodies were seen shooting into the side door, homicide unit Sgt. Stanley Latta said.
The officers found Gerald Talley, 63, inside the home, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
At 10:50 p.m., officers called to an address in the 1700 block of Huy Road on the report of a shooting outside the home found Rashawn Hill unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound, homicide unit Sgt. Jeff Strayer said.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
There are no suspects and no known motive at this time.
