COLUMBUS – Police say a shooting on a North Side interstate Thursday afternoon that left two men injured was not a random attack.

Officers responding to a report of a vehicle crash with injuries on westbound I-270 east of Sawmill Road at approximately 3:32 p.m. found Santoriyon Rae Shawn Harris and Dominique Jordan Trent suffering from gunshot wounds, Det. Robert Shepherd of the Felony Assault Unit said.
Trent, 27, was transported to Riverside Methodist Hospital in critical condition and Harris, 25, was in critical condition when he arrived at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center but both men were downgraded to stable condition, Shepherd said.
A second vehicle involved in the shooting incident was recovered shortly after the incident occurred but there were no suspect descriptions available early Friday.
Shepherd says the incident is considered to be “a targeted assault by mutual combatants.”
The interstate was closed for a time during the afternoon rush-hour while the investigation was conducted.
The incident is still under investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact Shepherd at 614-645-0877 or Central Ohio Crime Stoppers at 614-461-TIPS (8477).
