2 teens dead, 1 critical after accident

DELAWARE – Grief counselors were due to be on hand and a vigil was scheduled for Thursday night at Buckeye Valley High School Thursday after two students were killed and a third was injured in a crash in Delaware County Wednesday afternoon.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says a Jeep Wrangler driven by 16-year-old Jacob Richardson went off the roadway on State Route 257 near Fry Road, hit a guardrail, a utility pole and a tree before overturning on an embankment, according to WBNS 10-TV and a post on the school’s Facebook page.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of these students during this difficult time. As the Baron community, our strength is in the way we come together to support our neighbors, friends, staff and classmates during this tragedy. -Andy Miller, superintendent, on Buckeye Valley Local Schools Facebook page

Richardson and a rear-seat passenger, 15-year-old Mykaela Fellure, were pronounced dead at the scene.

A girl riding in the front passenger seat was taken to Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus with life-threatening injuries.
