2 teens shot, one for the second time

COLUMBUS – A 16-year-old boy shot for the second time in less than a week was one of two teens listed in stable condition after being shot on Columbus streets in separate incidents over the weekend.

Willie Williams told police he was walking on Parsons Avenue, near S. 6th Street at approximately 3:15 p.m. Sunday when he was shot by someone, Columbus police Det. Deryl Kowalski said.

Williams was taken to Grant Hospital for treatment. Kowalski says Williams was also a victim of a shooting on Nov. 4, but investigators don’t believe the two shootings are related.

Mahranda Howard was walking in the 100 block of S. Eureka Avenue, near the intersection with Olive Street, with another person at approximately 8:46 p.m. Saturday when someone fired multiple gunshots from across the street, striking Howard once, investigators said.

A witness described seeing a male black wearing black clothing running from the scene holding a handgun.

This incident is still under investigation.

No arrests were reported in either shooting.

Anyone with information regarding these incidents is asked to call the Columbus Police Felony Assault Unit at 614-645-4141 or Central Ohio Crime Stoppers at 614-461-TIPS (8477).
