COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Crew ended their season with back-to-back losses, dropping their finale to the New England Revolution on Sunday, 1-0.
Juan Agudelo scored midway through the first half and the Revolution qualified for the postseason for the first time since 2009.
Crew (12-17-5, 41 points) finished the season with a 4-4-0 record under interim head coach Brian Bliss, who took over ahead of the Sept. 4 match against Houston.
The Revolution (14-11-9) needed to win their regular-season finale because Houston defeated D.C. United earlier in the day to also reach 51 points.
