COLUMBUS – A woman who was injured in a double shooting outside a South Linden bar in September has died.
Shantia Peterson, 30, was sitting in a chair in the parking lot of the Sunrise Bar, 967 E. Hudson Street, at 12:45 a.m. on Sept. 22 when someone fired shots, police said.
Peterson was taken to Grant Medical Center initially and died Monday at Mt. Carmel St. Ann’s as a result of her injuries. The Franklin County Coroner’s Office officially declared her death a homicide on Thursday, Sgt. James Marable of the Homicide Unit said.
Another woman who was shot at the same time recovered from her injuries.
Peterson’s death is the 51st homicide of 2020 in Columbus.
