COLUMBUS – Police have arrested the second gunman in a shooting in a Southwest Side home this week that left a two-year-old girl dead.

SWAT officers arrested Jaquon Lamont Poindexter early Frifday morning on Busch Boulevard on charges of murder and felonious assault in connection with the shooting on Tuesday, detectives said. The owner of the Parkwick Drive home where the incident took place and her live-in boyfriend were injured and the couple’s two-year-old daughter was killed.
Relatives tell WBNS-TV that the couple crouched over the girl and tried to shield her from the gunfire.
Poindexter’s alleged accomplice, Norman Burke, was also wounded and was arrested a short distance away from the scene.
Reportedly, police had found drugs and weapons at the house during a search about two years ago.
