CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio (AP) – A central Ohio man and two other adults charged with aggravated murder and other counts in the slaying of his 84-year-old grandfather have pleaded not guilty.
Shaun Lawson, 30; Kyle Robinson, 20, and Joshua Johnson, 20, appeared in court Wednesday in Circleville, south of Columbus. Police say Lawson was the likely shooter in the March 31 slaying of his grandfather, Thomas Whitson.
A neighbor in rural Pickaway County found Whitson dead in his chair with a gunshot wound to his head. Deputies said several firearms were missing from the house. The three adults were arrested, along with two 17-year-old boys.
The Circleville Herald reports the adults were indicted Friday in the case. The juveniles are awaiting a hearing to determine if they will be prosecuted as adults.
