3 weekend homicides in Columbus, Whitehall

COLUMBUS – Police in Columbus and Whitehall are dealing with murder mysteries stemming from a trio of incidents over the weekend.

Homicide detectives say Karim Underdown was found shot in the street in the 1200 block of Simpson Drive, on the East Side, Saturday night. The 35-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene, homicide unit Sgt. Stanley Latta said.

At 9:35 a.m. Sunday, Columbus police officers found the body of Savaughn Conner lying on the ground in front of the businesses near 2169 S. James Road, said Sgt. Dave Sicilian of the homicide unit.

Conner, 33, was also pronounced dead at the scene.

This was the third homicide of the year in Columbus

The death of a 23-year-old man discovered in the backyard of a home in Whitehall Sunday morning is being tread as a homicide.

It’s unclear how Ryan Przeslica’s body came to be behind a home where it was found but investigators say it appears that it had been there for several hours.

Police say Przeslica, 23, lived in the OSU campus area although he was known to be recently homeless. His last known address was in Cuyahoga County.
