COLUMBUS – A third person has died from injuries sustained in a three-vehicle accident on the Northeast Side that killed a woman and one her daughters Saturday.
JaShawn Scott, 17, was riding in an Audi A6 in the eastbound lanes of Morse Road as it approached Sunbury Road when it was struck by a westbound Toyota Camry driven by Kumari Biswakarma shortly before 10:03 p.m., said Sgt. Brooke Wilson of the Accident Investigation Unit
Kumari Biswakarma, 40, and her 24-year-old daughter, Anju, were dead at the scene and Srijana Biswakari, Kumari Biswakarma’s 22-year-old daughter was taken to Mount Carmel East Hospital where she is in crticial condition, Wilson said.
Police say after the initial collision with the Camry, the Audi hit a Toyota Tacoma that was stopped in the left-turn lane from westbound Morse Road to southbound Sunbury Road and passers-by helped the Audi’s occupants out before it caught fire.
Kobie Stilwell, 18, who was driving the Audi, and another 17-year-old male passenger escaped serious injury, but Scott was taken to Mount Carmel East life-threatening injuries and the Franklin County Coroner’s Office was informed on Wednesday that he had died, Wilson said.
The Columbus Dispatch reports that Scott was a member of the Gahanna Lincoln High School football team.
Police are investigating.
