COLUMBUS, Ohio – Second-ranked Jordan Spieth and five more of the world’s top 10 golfers tee off Thursday morning for the opening round of the 40th edition of the Memorial Tournament presented by Nationwide, the invitational tournament founded by Jack Nicklaus at the Muirfield Village Golf Club.

The field of 120 players includes world No. 2 Spieth, No. 5 Jim Furyk, No. 6 Justin Rose, No. 8 Jason Day, No. 9 Rickie Fowler, and No. 10 Dustin Johnson. The 2015 field also boasts 15 of the top-20 on the FedExCup points list and seven of the current top-10 on the PGA TOUR money list.

In addition to Furyk (2002) and Rose (2010), nine past tournament winners will returning to Muirfield, including K.J. Choi, Ernie Els, Matt Kuchar, Hideki Matsuyama, three-time winner Kenny Perry, Carl Pettersson, Vijay Singh, Steve Stricker and five-time winner Tiger Woods.
Wednesday’s highlights are the Pro-Am and the Honoree Ceremony recognizing Sir Nick Faldo.
