6 people robbed near OSU campus

COLUMBUS – A rash of holdups near the OSU campus area has prompted university police to issue a security warning to neighborhood residents and students.

Police say, between 10:52 p.m. Tuesday and 12:34 a.m. Wednesday, three similar robberies – all involving three male suspects – happened in streets around campus:

At 10:52 p.m., three suspects assaulted a man near 122 E. 6th Avenue, stealing personal property and fleeing in a vehicle. At 11:39 p.m., two suspects took personal property at gunpoint from another victim near 116 E. Woodruff Avenue. At 12:34 a.m., three suspects assaulted a third victim near 190 E. 13th Avenue, taking a wallet.

The advisory also says that three additional holdups which could be related took place at E. 16th Avenue and Pearl Alley, in the 200 block of E. Norwich Avenue, and at the intersection of Northwood and Indianola Avenues.

Police say none of the victims were seriously injured.
