DELAWARE, Ohio (AP) – A 24-year-old man has been sentenced to six years in prison after being convicted of attempted murder in the stabbing of an Ohio Wesleyan University class president while he slept in his fraternity house.
A judge in Delaware County sentenced Nicholas Eber on Monday in last year’s attack on Anthony Peddle. Eber continued to maintain his innocence in court.
Prosecutors say Eber went to the Chi Phi fraternity house at about 3:30 a.m. on May 3 and stabbed the Peddle in the chest as he slept. They say Eber blamed Peddle for his breakup with his boyfriend.
Peddle, 21, recovered from his injuries and spoke in court Monday.
The knife cut 4 inches into his chest, narrowly missing his heart.
