COLUMBUS, Ohio – An eight-year-old East Side boy is recovering in the hospital after police say he accidentally shot himself in the foot with a gun he found in a shoe.
The boy found the loaded handgun inside of a shoe at a duplex at 400 S. Napoleon Avenue and shot himself in the foot at approximately 4:48 p.m., Assault Unit detectives said
The victim was transported to Nationwide Children’s Hospital for treatment.
Although the shooting is considered accidental and no charges have been filed, detective say the incident is still under investigation.
