COLUMBUS, Ohio – This weekend brings central Ohioans more opportunities to give to those less fortunate during the holiday season.
Nationwide Children’s Hospital hosts its second annual Every Gift Matters Great Toy Drop-Off Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to Noon in front of the new main hospital, 630 Children’s Drive.
The community is encouraged to drop-off new toys and/or children’s books that will be distributed to patients this holiday season.
While the hospital cannot accept food or clothing, it can collect:
New toys, new or gently used children’s books, brand new stuffed animals with tags still attached (used toys or stuffed animals due to concerns about infection control and allergies); cash donations to support the Child Life Fund and gift cards.
The Andersons is helping the Salvation Army raise money for Salvation Army clients impacted by federal food-assistance cuts.
The weekend of Dec 12-14, The Andersons will match money raised in the Sawmill and Brice Road Red Kettles at a rate of 3-to-1 up to $150,000 in gift cards. The Salvation Army will redeem the cards to support its various feeding programs.
