COLUMBUS – Three Athens children whose abduction prompted a statewide Amber Alert Wednesday night were recovered safely in the Cleveland area.
Police say Neil Perin, 34, took the children, ranging in age from infancy to 4 years, from a home on State Street in Athens at approximately 8:54 a.m. following a domestic dispute, according to the alert information on the state Amber Alert website.
Police said Perin had a history of violence.
According to broadcast reports, he and the children were found in a Shaker Heights apartment late Wednesday night and Perin was arrested by the FBI, the U.S. Marshal Service and Cleveland police.
This is the third Amber Alert issued in 2018, involving seven children. All have been recovered safely.
