HOUSTON (AP) — Andrew Miller failed to get an out in relief of starter Carlos Carrasco while the Houston Astros beat the Indians 3-1 to move within a victory of ending their AL Division Series.
Miller allowed a two-run go-ahead double, walked a batter, threw a wild pitch, then handed off to another reliever.
It’s just the latest October frustration for manager Terry Francona and his unreliable bullpen.
Cleveland will face elimination in Cleveland in Game 3 on Monday.
Francisco Lindor put Cleveland ahead with a third-inning homer off Gerrit Cole, but Marwin Gonzalez gave the Astros the lead against Miller in the sixth with the third of his four hits.
Alex Bregman homered for the second straight day as the Astros took a 2-0 series lead.
