All-Star security plans

CINCINNATI (AP) – Law enforcement and baseball officials plan to publicly discuss security measures for Cincinnati as it hosts the All-Star Game and days of pregame events.

Authorities say there will be a strong police presence including undercover officers as tens of thousands of people flock into the city for concerts, a celebrity softball game, fan festivals and more before the Tuesday game.

There are plans for street closures and also a special task force to target production and sale of counterfeit tickets and Major League Baseball merchandise. A press conference was scheduled Wednesday.

A city development group Tuesday announced cancellation of a Saturday night hip-hop concert and the rest of a downtown summer series in the aftermath of a violent melee last Saturday night.
