COLUMBUS – Nearly 20,000 Buckeye fans will be allowed to attend the annual spring football scrimmage with almost half of the available tickets set aside for workers who have been on the front lines of the battle against the coronavirus.
Attendance will be capped at 19,180 for the 2021 LiFESports Spring Game presented by Buckeyes Care set for noon on April 17 at Ohio Stadium,
There will be a general public sale on April 12 for a number of constituent groups, including students and the general public.
University leaders arrived at the figure with the help of Columbus Public Health and following revised health orders announced by Gov. Mike DeWine this week. The seating plan will allow for six feet of distance between seating pods.
Approximately 10,000 seats will be given to the Wexner Medical Center and other facilities and organizations on campus whose staff has cared for others during the COVID-19 panfemic.
The department anticipates approximately 4,500 tickets will be available to the general public at $5 per ticket.
