Another mall, another shooting incident

COLUMBUS – For the second time in three days, shots rang out at a popular shopping mall in Columbus, one of four shooting incidents in the city on Wednesday.

At approximately 9:52 p.m. police officers responded to Easton Town Center on reports of gunshots fired on mall property. Two men reported they had gotten into an argument a person who fired a shot at them and fled in a silver Dodge Charger. Neither of the men was struck by the gunfire, according to Sgt. Doug Jones of the Felony Assault Unit.

It was one of four shooting incidents report to police on Wednesday.

A 63-year-old man he was shot in the chest and neck when someone got out of the driver’s side of a gray Honda CR-V and fired multiple gunshots in the parking lot of the Eagle gas station at 3851 E. Livingston Avenue at 12:08 p.m., police said. Donald Anderson was taken to a hospital in critical condition and was later upgraded to serious condition.

Larry Latham, 18, told police he was walking crossing 18th Avenue at Cleveland Avenue at 7:32 p.m. when an unknown person shot him in the shoulder. He was listed in stable condition.

A 32-year-old man was in stable condition after being shot when someone driving a dark colored sedan fired approximately 15 rounds at several customers standing in front of Shots and Slices Bar, 546 E. Whittier Street just after 1:30 a.m., Jones said.
