COLUMBUS – Columbus police have arrested a suspect in the death of a man whose body was found in a Hilltop alley earlier this month.
It appears robbery was the motive behind the slaying of Michael Moreno, 30, whose body was found in an alley in the 300 block of S. Harris Avenue around 10:00 p.m. on the night of Dec. 15.
Eric Powell, 25, was charged with murder and aggravated robbery and arrested by SWAT officers and detectives this week, according to homicide unit Sgt. Stanley Latta.
Officers went to check on a report of a body lying in the alley in the rear of 393 S. Harris Avenue at 10:03 p.m. on Dec. 15 and found a man who appeared dead, which was confirmed a few minutes later, homicide Sgt. Stanley Latta said.
