COLUMBUS – A 19-year-old man is under arrest and authorities say they are still looking for additional suspects in the shooting death of a man during a robbery in Franklin Township Sunday night.
Franklin County Sheriff’s Office detectives arrested Ahmed Mohamed Ali on Tuesday and charged him with aggravated murder and aggravated robbery in the death of Mohamed Abdulkadir Suleiman during an apparent holdup in the area of 466 Knob Hill Court West.
He is currently being held in the Franklin County Jail, Sheriff Dallas Baldwin said.
Sheriff’s deputies and Franklin Township police officers responding to a report of a person being shot found Suleiman, 19, on a sidewalk at 10:49 p.m..
He had been shot multiple times in the upper body and was pronounced dead at the scene, Baldwin said.
Detectives believe that additional suspects may have been involved in the murder and are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau at 614-525-3351.
