COLUMBUS, Ohio – A man and a woman are being held on 1$ million bond in connection with the shooting death of a Richwood man.
Joseph Magana, of Mt. Victory, and Amber Parish, of Ostrander, were arrested Friday in connection with the slaying of Arthur Burchett on Wednesday, Union County Sheriff Jamie Patton said.
Magana, 29, and Parish, 27, are charged with one count each of aggravated burglary and aggravated robbery and are being held in the Tri County Regional Jail, Patton said.
During searches of homes on U.S. Route 36 and in Columbus, investigators from Patton’s office, the Marysville Division of Police, and the Columbus Police Department recovered several weapons believed stolen during the robbery at Burchett’s Askins Road home, including a .22 caliber rifle Patton says fired the fatal shot.
Autopsy results showed that Burchett, 67, died of a single gunshot wound to the head, Patton said.
Patton says deputies have also seized a Honda Civic used during the commission of the robbery.
The investigation is still going on and Patton expects additional charges to be filed.
