COLUMBUS – Hector Villabla scored both goals for Atlanta United as they beat the Columbus Crew SC, 2-0, in front of a sellout crowd at MAPFRE Stadium Saturday night.
It was MAPFRE Stadium’s first sellout of the year, with an announced attendance of 20,391, the largest crowd for a regular-season match since 2015.
Villabla scored in the 27th minute with an assist from Alec Kann and scored an unassisted goal in the 64th minute.
The Crew SC (8-10-1, 25 pts) travels to Minneapolis to take on Western Conference opponent Minnesota United FC on Tuesday at TCF Bank Stadium (7:00 p.m./My TV Columbus, Spectrum Sports, BCSN2).
