Attendance at Memorial limited; hygiene requirements in place

DUBLIN – When the Memorial Tournament returns to Muirfield Village Golf Club July 13-19, it will be sold out and officials say those spectators who will be able to attend will find getting through the gates very different than in the previous 44 events.

Attendance will be limited to 20% of the club’s capacity, including spectators and staff.

Fans will be asked to take their temperature and answer a six-question CDC-recommended questionnaire. If the temperature reading is 100 or higher or any of the six questions are answered in affirmative the individual is asked to stay at home and seek medical advice.

Upon arrival, spectators will again have their temperature taken and will answer the questionnaire and, if their temperature is above 100 degrees, they will be subject to a second reading. If the second reading is again above 100 or they answer “yes” to any of the questions, they’ll be turned away.

Masks will be required, with some exceptions. Spectators are asked to bring their own or they will be issued one upon arrival.

To promote physical distancing, one-way corridors will be maintained, a pre-determined number of fans will be allowed to stand in sitting or standing “corrals” at each hole, and bleachers have been eliminated.

Fans are encouraged to bring their own hand sanitizer. No cash sales will be allowed. There will be no public parking shuttles.

The tournament is part of the PGA Tour’s adjusted tournament schedule due to the COVID-19 pandemic. An event the week before will be played without spectators.
