MACEDONIA (AP) — Authorities say an eight-month-old baby boy was found dead in the parking lot of a Wal-Mart in northeast Ohio after he was left in a car for hours.
Police were notified at approximately 5:30 p.m. Wednesday that the boy was found unresponsive in a sport utility vehicle by his grandmother, an employee at a Wal-Mart in Macedonia.

The incident began after a man took four children to a day care center at about 8 a.m. and forgot about the baby, who was seated in the SUV’s third row, said Lt. Vince Yakopovich of the Macedonia police. Initial information from police didn’t specify the relationship between the man and the infant.
After the children were dropped off, the baby’s grandmother drove the SUV to work at approximately 11 a.m. without realizing the child was still in the back seat.
Police don’t believe the baby was intentionally harmed. An autopsy was scheduled for Thursday.
