COLUMBUS – Ashlee Baracy has been named chief meteorologist at WBNS 10-TV, the television station announced Friday.
She was previously Morning Meteorologist at the station and her elevation to the new position took effect immediately.
Baracy joined the station’s Doppler 10 weather team in 2015 and provides forecasts weekdays during the 5:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. newscasts.
Baracy also delivers daily weather forecasts on. Sunny 95.
During a recent pregnancy, Baracy inspired a conversation about body positivity through her experiences with body shaming and her defiant responses to her critics were featured in numerous national media outlets.
Baracy earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan, her Broadcast Meteorology Certification from Mississippi State University and holds a Master of Science degree from Eastern Michigan University.
