COLUMBUS – Police say a man who fired shots at officers from inside a Northeast Side home and refused police orders to come out has been found dead.

A Columbus police statement Sunday said officers responded to a reported domestic dispute at the house on Headford Court shortly before 5:00 p.m. Saturday.
Police say they then made contact with a man who barricaded himself inside the house and refused to leave.
Police say the man, identified as Mark Molisnki, 60, fired several shots at officers after a SWAT team arrived at the location.
They found the man dead in the home around 3:00 a.m. Sunday.
Authorities didn’t immediately provide details on how he died.
Several guns were recovered at the scene, police said.
No other injuries were reported.
The officers involved in the incidents were identified as Pfc. Charles Distlehorst, a 29-year veteran of the Division of Police, and Ofc. Matthew Smith, a 24-year veteran. Both are assigned to the SWAT unit.
