COLUMBUS – Chadwick Tromp‘s grand slam in the 11th inning gave the Louisville Bats an 11-8 win over the Clippers in the first game of a two-game series at Huntington Park Wednesday night.
After Columbus tied the game in the bottom of the ninth inning and again in the 10th, Tromp broke 7-7 tie with his homer to left field off James Karinchak (0-1).
Matt Bowman (1-1) gave up a run in the bottom of the inning on a sacrifice fly to Mark Mathias.
Narciso Crook went 3-for-6 with a double and a triple and scored a run for Columbus.
The two teams conclude the series Thursday night.
