COLUMBUS – Three runs in the ninth inning was not nearly enough for the Clippers to overcome a Louisville lead, leaving Columbus on the losing end of the finale of a two-game series.
The Bats shelled Columbus starter Michael Roth (7-6) for all seven of their runs in the first two innings, highlighted by the six-run second when Brennan Boesch and Ryan LaMarre each contributed bases-loaded hits.
The Clippers travel to Rochester for three game starting Friday night.
