Bats 9, Clippers 0

LOUISVILLE – The Clippers lost for the first time since the 2019 season as the Louisville Bats roughed up starter Logan Allen, scoring seven runs in the second inning Thursday, on the way to a 9-0 drubbing in the third game of a season-opening series at Louisville Slugger Field.

Scott Heineman brought three of those runs around with a bases-loaded triple off Allen (0-1) and scored another run on two-run single by Beau Taylor in the fourth.

Vladimir Gutierrez (1-0) pitched six innings of one-hit ball to get the win

The two teams continue their series Friday night at 7:00 p.m.
