The win was the fifth in a row for Cleveland.
The Indians held the Reds scoreless after a three-run first.
Cody Reed walked Yonder Alonso before allowing Cabrera’s third homer of the season.
Four relievers combined for 3 2/3 scoreless innings before Brad Hand worked out of a bases-loaded jam in the ninth for his 28th save.
