Bearcats mourn teammate

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Cincinnati Bearcats will be a team in mourning when they come to Ohio Stadium to play the Buckeyes Saturday night following the death of one of their teammates in a traffic accident on Thursday.

The school said in a release that redshirt freshman running back Chamoda Kennedy-Palmore was riding his motorcycle in Cincinnati when a collision occurred with a sports utility vehicle shortly after 1:30 p.m. Thursday. Kennedy-Palmore, 19, was taken to UC Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

OSU athletics officials say there will be a moment of silence to prior to the game (6:00 p.m./BTN)) to honor Kennedy-Palmore’s memory.

Kennedy-Palmore, of Cincinnati, attended Lakota East High School. He was in his second year with the Bearcat football team and was part of a tryout group of players who recently joined the team after the season opener against Toledo Sept. 12.

Kennedy-Palmore’s teammates were informed of his death following Thursday’s practice. Head Coach Tommy Tuberville says the team’s thoughts and prayers are with Kennedy-Palmore’s family.
