Bexley moves ahead on anti-discrimination law

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Bexley’s City Council is moving ahead with plans to approve an anti-discrimination ordinance that addresses sexual orientation and gender identity.

According to WBNS 10-TV, council members Tuesday unanimously approved drafting an ordinance and appointed a committee to draw up the legislation, which will come before the full council for a vote April 28.

Against the background of a national debate on “religious freedom” legislation, the East Side suburb took its share of the spotlight after a videographer refused to shoot a same-sex wedding.

Last night’s City Council meeting was also the scene of a rally by activist groups supporting an anti-discrimination measure.
